Sage & Spirit performs Classical and Celtic music for private functions, weddings, parties, and other events.
Sage & Spirit is a violin and guitar duo with John Holenko playing guitar. Performing standard classical repertoire, as well as Celtic and traditional American repertoire, Sage & Spirit combine classical technique with a traditional flavor to cover a wide range of musical genres. Based in Charleston, this ensemble has been performing at private functions throughout the area for many years. From corporate events to weddings, to parties, and dances, Sage & Spirit is an experienced duo that has performed in all kinds of venues. The flexibility of this group makes it ideal for non-traditional weddings and other events, as well as being perfectly suited to more traditional and formal events. The organizer and director of Sage & Spirit is John Holenko, an accomplished classical guitarist who also performs on mandolin, and has played with groups as diverse as The Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Medieval group Sonus, and the Irish pub band The Bograts. Sage & Spirit has performed programs of strictly Classical music, traditional Celtic music, Renaissance music, and even has a Christmas program.
