Charlestowne Trio

Helen Greenfield on cello along with flute and violin - a perfect selection for weddings, cocktail hours, corporate events and receptions.

Helen Greenfield is originally from Wilmington Island, Savannah, Georgia, where she began the study of cello at age ten. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Columbus State University, studying with Donovan Schumacher, former principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony. She then completed her Master's degree in Music from Montclair State College, where she studied with Chaim Zemach, cellist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

Ms. Greenfield has toured Canada and New York state and has appeared in New York City at the Lincoln Center as part of the Chataqua Festival Orchestra. She has performed as principal cellist of the San Marcos Symphony in Phoenix, Arizona where she was also a founding member of the Cafe String Quartet, an ensemble that premiered contemporary music.

Currently, Helen Greenfield freelances throughout the Southeast, performing Solo Cello with a unique blend of original arrangements of classical, jazz, and popular tunes to showcase the lush, chordal richness of the cello as a solo instrument. She also performs regularly with the La Mer Violin and Cello Duo, The Christopher Teves Trio (classical guitar, flute, & cello), the Savannah Symphony, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She also teaches private cello lessons.
